Where do we begin? Razer has just introduced, inarguably, one of the best mobile gaming smartphones yet. The Razer Phone has topped the leading brands in the industry in many areas. Starting with the display, it rocks a vibrant 5.7 inch IGZO LCD Quad HD screen with an UltraMotion technology delivering refresh rates with up to 120 Hz. This guarantees a smooth experience with no lag at all.
As for Audio, the Razer Phone comes with Dolby ATMOS featuring dual front-facing speakers with dual-dedicated amplifiers. In addition, when plugging in your headphones, the hardware certified by THX brings about an audiophile quality.
But it all comes down to performance. The Razer Phone comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with 8GB RAM. Comparing it with the iPhone 8 Plus’ 3GB RAM & the Samsung S8 Plus’ 4GB RAM, the Razer Phone clearly wins. Whether that much RAM shows any practical difference to the experience in comparison to these devices when playing games remains to be seen, especially due to the fact that most mobile games do not require that much RAM to be played.
However, the argument can be made that Razer’s mobile partners are developing games that might require a lot of RAM power to run smoothly, especially with the PUBG-inspired game, UltraHunt by Cmune, that was demonstrated during the keynote. Furthermore, the device includes Game Booster which allows you to maximize the phone’s power and performance.
For those of you who are mostly interested in the camera, the device comes with 12MP dual cameras which transitions from the f1.7 wide angle lens to 2x telephoto in order to capture images.
With all these stunning specs, Razer has managed to power it with a 4,000 mAh battery. To get an idea of how efficient it is, just compare it to the iPhone 8 Plus’ 2,675 mAh battery or the Samsung S8 Plus’ 3,500 mAh battery. The Razer Phone has outperformed the top brands in the industry in this area for sure. On top of that, it comes with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+ which allows you to charge the Razer Phone from 0 to 85% within 1 single hour.
It comes with 64 GB storage and features external microSD if you wish to add more. The Android device, in terms of specs, has exceeded its competitors on many fronts, creating the ultimate experience for gamers.
Finally, it comes down to one main factor. Does the price meet the performance? The Razer Phone is priced at $699 and we truly believe that it is worth getting, especially if you consider yourself a mobile gamer. It is currently available for pre-order at the Razer Store and will be on sale starting November 17th, 2017. You can watch the full Razer Keynote below.
